Pepper Bush Cookshop’s pepper sauce is handmade in small batches by mother-daughter duo Eunice Armstrong and Ophelia Marks in Brooklyn, NY.

We use fresh, 100% all natural ingredients, seasonal and local when available & no artificial preservatives or additives. Filled with the rich heritage and history of the Liberian culture, our family recipes have been passed down from generation to generation. Whether served on the side as a condiment or used as a rub or marinade, Pepper Bush Cookshop’s pepper sauce highlights the flavor of everyday meals.

Eunice brainstormed with her husband Mathew Armstrong to produce a pepper sauce that was not sodium heavy or cooked with unhealthy oils & preservatives, as mainly found in the African markets. That’s why Eunice started making the pepper sauce from ingredients she found around her in Brooklyn like tomatoes, Scotch Bonnet peppers, garlic and onions.  After selling out her pepper sauce by word of mouth, Eunice & Mathew decided to package them for everyone to enjoy. The main ingredient of our sauce is Scotch Bonnet peppers, an excellent source of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. It is suitable for vegetarians and vegans and also Gluten free.

My house is never without a few bottles of this magnificent pepper sauce. We use it on everything from chicken and steak to adding it to marinades and dressings. For us it’s a staple on our dinner table, and with good reason. It gives food flavor, depth, and character. It’s a pretty versatile sauce once you’ve tried it you’ll find it hard not to crave it and put it on/in everything. You’ve been warned.
